Nexstar Media is marking its 30th anniversary with a generous initiative that sees the company contribute $5,000 every day to a variety of organizations across the United States.
One of the recipients is Buffalo Warriors Hockey, a nonprofit that uses the sport to build camaraderie among veterans, offering them a welcoming space to connect over shared experiences.
Founded in 2011, the program welcomes veterans of every branch and every level of hockey experience, providing free participation and supplying all necessary equipment.
A Community Built on Ice
The organization works closely with partners such as the Buffalo Sabres Foundation, The VA, National Fuel and other sponsors, leveraging those relationships to broaden its impact.
With roughly 250 members, Buffalo Warriors Hockey is actively seeking to grow its roster, particularly by inviting more female veterans to join the community.
Donations to the group directly fund its operations, ensuring that veterans can continue to access the sport and the supportive network it creates.
