Beyond the games, the tournament underscored the power of local volunteerism. Winners and runners‑up were treated to complimentary ice cream from Cool as Ice, a beloved Volga ice cream shop that has become a staple of the community’s summer festivities.
Team identities added a playful twist to the competition, with monikers such as MeatBallers, 67 Squad, Halfcourt Hotties, Swish Sisters, Dribbling Divas, and Team Ant Man. The latter paid homage to Minnesota’s rising star Anthony Edwards, linking the local event to broader NBA excitement.
