Athens to Host NextGen EuroLeague Finals
The NextGen EuroLeague Finals are scheduled to run from May 21 through May 24 in Athens, Greece, bringing together eight elite youth teams from across Europe and the United States. The event has become a proving ground for future NBA talent, with alumni such as Luka Dončić, Victor Wembanyama and Nikola Jokić having used the platform to launch professional careers.
Among the participants is the Next Generation Team 3SSB, an Adidas‑sponsored squad that fields the nation’s most coveted 2027 point guard, Nasir Anderson. Anderson, who currently plays for the Atlanta Celtics on the 3SSB circuit, has been praised by analysts for his playmaking and defensive instincts during the circuit’s first spring session in Ladera Ranch, California.
Scouts have noted Anderson’s combination of size, speed and basketball IQ, ranking him No. 7 nationally, No. 2 at point guard and No. 4 in Florida for the 2027 class according to the 247Sports Composite. His performance has also earned an honorable mention All‑American nod from MaxPreps for the 2025‑26 season.
College recruiters are already courting the youngster, with Syracuse among the programs extending scholarship offers alongside Auburn, Alabama, Georgia, California and a host of other power‑conference schools. Anderson’s full list of suitors includes Cincinnati, Florida, Georgia Tech, Houston, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, LSU, Louisville, Maryland, Missouri, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Southern California, Virginia and Virginia Tech.
Beyond his club commitments, Anderson’s high school, Prolific Prep, finished the previous season with a 38‑4 record and a run to the Chipotle Nationals championship game. The school’s athletic director confirmed that the program remains in regular dialogue with top prospects, including four‑star shooting guard RJ Moore and center Caleb Ourigou.
The upcoming second spring session of the Adidas 3SSB circuit will take place in Mishawaka, Indiana, from May 15 to May 17, providing another opportunity for Anderson and his peers to impress evaluators before the Athens finals.
