Ian Duarte Joins Tennessee Volunteers
Ian Duarte, a redshirt junior wide receiver, is set to bring his proven production to the University of Tennessee beginning in the 2026 season. After three years at Idaho State University, where he amassed 95 receptions for 1,035 yards and six touchdowns, Duarte arrives with a reputation for reliability and big‑play ability.
At Idaho State, Duarte also contributed on the ground with 17 rushing yards on six carries and added 113 punt return yards and 242 kick return yards, showcasing his versatility. His most memorable moments included a 64‑yard reception against UNLV and a 31‑yard punt return that highlighted his speed in open space.
The Volunteers will open their 2026 campaign on September 5 at Neyland Stadium against Furman, a game that will be streamed on the SEC Network+ at 3:30 p.m. EDT. The schedule features marquee matchups against Texas, Auburn, Alabama, Kentucky and LSU, as well as road tests at Georgia Tech, Arkansas, South Carolina, Texas A&M and Vanderbilt, promising a challenging and exciting season.
Hailing from Eagle, Idaho, Duarte also excelled in baseball before focusing on football, a background that coaches say contributes to his athletic instincts.
