Investigation Underway
The Kentucky State Police have opened an investigation into Chris Gaither, the former head boys basketball coach at Collins High School, on allegations of sexual misconduct.
Gaither’s employment with Shelby County Public Schools ended in January 2026, when the district terminated him from both his coaching and teaching positions after two separate suspensions in 2025.
Gaither served as the second head coach in the school’s history, a role he held from 2011 until his dismissal, and the suspensions followed the emergence of the allegations.
Authorities are urging anyone with relevant information to come forward, directing tips to the Kentucky State Police tip line at 502-227-2221.
