Johns Hopkins University announced that six of its female student-athletes have been selected for the 2026 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Women’s At-Large Team, a distinction that underscores the school’s emphasis on integrating rigorous scholarship with competitive athletics.
The honorees represent three varsity programs — fencing, field hockey, and lacrosse — illustrating the breadth of talent that the university cultivates across its sports offerings.
Excellence Across Disciplines
Among the fencers, senior Rosy Cepero, who majors in Molecular & Cellular Biology, and senior Josephine Chang, a Neuroscience major, join graduate student Jenna Halpin of the field hockey program, who is pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering. Junior Aubrey Kilgore, also a Neuroscience major on the field hockey roster, completes the trio of fencing and field hockey standouts.
Lacrosse senior Reagan O’Brien, a Political Science major, rounds out the cohort. Each athlete meets the CSC’s eligibility criteria, which require a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 and sophomore standing or higher.
Their selection reflects a broader institutional effort to nurture leaders who excel both on the playing field and in the classroom. The university’s athletic departments and academic support services have worked in tandem to help these students manage demanding schedules while maintaining high academic standards.
Looking Ahead to All-America Honors
The recognition sets the stage for further accolades, as the first, second, and third teams for Academic All-America will be announced on July 7. Anticipation builds around how many of these standout students will advance to the national All-America lists, continuing a tradition of Blue Jays who have earned prestigious academic and athletic honors.
Beyond individual achievement, the group’s success highlights the collaborative environment fostered at Johns Hopkins, where scholarly pursuits and athletic ambition are viewed as complementary rather than competing priorities.
