UC Santa Barbara women's soccer head coach Paul Stumpf announced the addition of Delilah Vega‑Aguilar, a dynamic forward who brings a proven scoring pedigree to the Gauchos ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Vega‑Aguilar spent her rookie year at Cal State Bakersfield, appearing in 19 matches and starting twice, during which she recorded her first collegiate point with an assist against Fresno State.
Across those appearances she helped the Roadrunners outscore opponents 26‑19, and in the two starts her side posted a 7‑1 record, underscoring her impact when on the field.
The Gauchos themselves finished the season with a 13‑5‑5 ledger, marking the fourth‑most wins in program history and securing a second straight Big West Championship Final berth.
A Boost for the Attack
Stumpf highlighted Vega‑Aguilar's high‑school record of 66 goals and three league titles at Salinas High School, noting that her experience will add depth and creativity to the front line.
Fans can expect a competitive push as the Gauchos look to build on their recent success and contend for the Big West title once again.
