NASCAR's In-Season Challenge is back for a second straight year, bringing a 32-driver, single-elimination tournament to the middle of the regular season.
Bracket Set After Pocono
The bracket was finalized after the Great American Getaway 400 at Pocono Raceway, setting up a series of matchups that will culminate at the historic Indianapolis Motor Speedway on July 26, where the champion will pocket a $1 million prize.
The first round of the tournament is scheduled for June 28 at the Sonoma Raceway, a road course that will test drivers' versatility early in the competition.
Driver Reactions
Brad Keselowski, a former champion, admitted he was surprised to learn the challenge would continue, but he welcomed the chance to compete in a new format.
Kyle Larson, another front-runner, echoed that sentiment, saying the series could have done a better job of building excitement among fans.
Ty Gibbs, the 2023 winner and the sixth seed, is already looking ahead to defending his title, while Denny Hamlin and Ty Dillon are set to meet again in a 2-versus-31 matchup that adds another layer of intrigue.
The challenge is also seen as a way to break up the monotony of the long summer stretch, giving teams and spectators a focal point before the playoffs.
