FreddyLA7, a German soccer vlogger with more than 600,000 followers on X, has turned his FIFA World Cup coverage into a cross‑country adventure across the United States.
After touching down in Houston on June 13, following a stint in Louisiana, he immediately set out to explore the city’s sports landmarks, starting with a visit to Tiger Stadium, which he called the largest arena he has ever seen.
Houston’s Hospitality
The welcome extended beyond stadium tours. Former Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt opened his hotel rooms to Freddy and his companions, while the Houston Rockets presented a handful of team merchandise as tokens of local goodwill.
Freddy’s itinerary also included a behind‑the‑scenes look at the Houston Police Department, where he met Chief Noe Diaz and toured the facility, gaining a glimpse of the city’s law‑enforcement operations.
The next day he attended his first Major League Baseball game, watching the Houston Astros take on the Detroit Tigers. During the game he shook hands with Mayor John Whitmire, who welcomed the German visitor to Texas.
Looking Ahead
With Germany scheduled to play its opening World Cup match in the state, Freddy plans to remain in Texas for the Portugal versus Congo fixture before heading north to Oklahoma for an Ella Langley concert.
Reflecting on the journey, he thanked his followers for making the trip possible and highlighted the unique blend of sport, culture, and community he has encountered across the country.
