Isaac Brice, a native of Picayune, Mississippi, arrived at Portland State University with the ambition of playing basketball at the collegiate level. Though his path was marked by a series of serious injuries, his determination never wavered, shaping him into a figure of perseverance on and off the court.
A Mentor in the Making
Through PSU's Team Impact program, Brice met Lucas, a young man with special needs, and the two formed a bond that extended beyond basketball. Their relationship underscored Brice's role as a mentor, offering guidance and companionship that resonated throughout the campus community.
His athletic career was punctuated by a labrum tear that required three surgeries, including a complex nerve transfer procedure. While these operations sidelined him for extended periods, they also forged a resilience that later defined his leadership among teammates.
Beyond the gym, Brice earned a Bachelor of Arts in marketing and plans to pursue a master's degree in Applied Data Science at Portland State, a step he believes will open doors to a career at Nike, where he hopes to apply data‑driven insights to sport.

With a fifth year of eligibility still available and his shoulder showing promising signs of recovery, Brice steps into the next chapter of his story with optimism.
