Brayden Randle, a junior infielder who grew up in Rockwall, Texas, has decided to enter the transfer portal after completing three years with the Ole Miss baseball program.
During the most recent season he started 45 games and appeared in 51, posting a .259 batting average with four home runs and 23 RBIs, while his performance in the NCAA Tournament was even more striking, as he hit .458 with seven RBIs and a single home run across seven games.
A Strategic Shift in the Super Regional
Coach Mike Bianco, who has guided the Rebels for more than two decades, responded by shifting Randle to the outfield during the super regional series against Auburn, a move intended to maximize the team's batting depth.
The adjustment highlighted the Rebels' willingness to experiment with lineup configurations as they pursued a deeper postseason run, and it underscored the coaching staff's confidence in Randle's versatility despite his primary infield background.
Randle's decision to explore new opportunities reflects a broader trend among college athletes seeking fresh platforms to showcase their talents, and it will be interesting to see which program ultimately welcomes the Texas native.
