Wyatt Hanoian, a versatile infielder who spent his freshman year at Air Force, revealed his commitment to the University of Tennessee on social media, marking the third transfer to join the Volunteers this offseason.
A Freshman Standout's Journey
During his debut season with the Falcons, Hanoian started all 53 games and showcased a .357 batting average, 66 hits, four triples and 32 walks. He ranked second on the team in slugging percentage (.573) and on‑base percentage (.498), while also stealing six bases in nine attempts.
His impact extended beyond the plate. Hanoian logged 22 multi‑hit games and 15 multi‑RBI performances, and he posted a .776 slugging percentage against Mountain West competition. He handled multiple positions, including second base, right field, third base and designated hitter, providing the team with flexible lineup options.
The commitment comes as Tennessee continues to bolster its roster with transfers from a range of programs. Alongside Hanoian, the Volunteers have secured Braydon Kersey and Brody Trosclair, both of whom also announced their moves to the SEC school earlier this offseason.
Hanoian’s high school pedigree adds another layer of intrigue. He graduated from Orange Lutheran High School in the Class of 2025 and was ranked No. 222 overall in California and No. 48 among shortstops by Perfect Game, underscoring the prospect’s elite status before his collegiate debut.
