A Tradition Revived
The 2026 Lions High School All‑Star football game will take place on Saturday, June 20, at Foothill High School in Palo Cedro, California, bringing together the region’s top senior talent for a showcase of skill and sportsmanship.
Among the selected players is Nathan Schmid, a senior at Quincy Junior‑Senior High School, who will represent the South team in the small schools division. Standing 6 feet 2 inches tall and weighing 225 pounds, Schmid will line up as an offensive guard and cornerback, bringing a blend of size and agility to the roster.
The contest, organized by Lions International District 4‑C1, has been a staple of Northern California’s sports calendar since 1978. Proceeds from ticket sales support the Lions Camp McCumber, a residential camp that provides diabetes education and recreation for children.
Fans can expect a full day of action, with gates opening at 4 p.m. for the large schools division before its 7:30 p.m. kickoff, while the small schools division’s game begins at 5 p.m. The event underscores the Lions Club’s long‑standing commitment to community service and youth development.
