Brody Pike Leads Upstate Boys Soccer to Historic Back-to-Back Titles

Coaches across the Upstate gathered to recognize the finest boys soccer talent, compiling the All-Upstate teams based on statistics, observations and team accomplishments. The honor roll includes first and second teams that spotlight the region’s deepest talent pool.

Brody Pike of Powdersville emerged as the 2026 Upstate player of the year after guiding his squad to a second straight SCHSL Class 3A state championship. Pike recorded 39 goals and 21 assists, a combination that helped the team secure the title and cement his status as a midfield maestro.

Other standout performers included Smith Darby from J.L. Mann, the 2025 Gatorade player of the year, and Erik Martinez of Southside, who propelled his side to its first championship with 31 goals. Jud Scrivner, also from Powdersville, topped the state with 36 assists while adding 18 goals, underscoring his all-around impact.

The season also featured memorable contributions from players such as Tre Segarra of Byrnes, who finished his high school career with 14 goals and seven assists, and Kyle Monte of Mauldin, who earned a spot on the North-South all-star team with 14 goals and 12 assists. Asher Wilson of Eastside led his team to the 5A Division 2 championship, tallying 21 goals and 10 assists, while goalkeeper Brandon Jaramillo delivered a dramatic penalty-save to clinch the title.

Defensive stalwarts like Luka Kucinic from St. Joseph’s Catholic were named to the Clash of the Carolinas all-star lineup, and Liam Montes of J.L. Mann helped solidify the defense with five goals and five assists. Meanwhile, Garret Stump of Powdersville posted 17 shutouts in 28 appearances, highlighting the depth of talent across the region.

The achievements extend beyond the high school level, with several players committing to collegiate programs at institutions such as the University of Alabama at Birmingham, Spartanburg Methodist College, Louisiana State University and North Greenville University, promising continued growth on the national stage.
