Jeff Moore, a 1985 graduate of Zanesville High School, has been appointed the new boys basketball coach, succeeding Cedric Harris, who resigned for personal reasons.
A Legacy of Success
Moore spent ten years at the helm of the school’s girls program, amassing 151 victories and guiding the team to two Final Four appearances as an assistant on the boys side.
His coaching philosophy centers on disciplined defense and unselfish teamwork, principles he believes are essential for rebuilding the Blue Devils.
A Bridge to the Future
Moore will work alongside former Blue Devils assistants Shane Hollins and Sol Curtis, while longtime colleague Mike Young continues in his role, creating a staff that blends fresh ideas with institutional knowledge.
The roster will feature returning seniors Lucca Wood, Quinell Angler and Maddox Mohler, who provide a foundation of experience for the upcoming season.
Despite health concerns related to hypertension, Moore remains eager to contribute, noting that his daughters support his decision and that he views his tenure as a stepping stone toward a more permanent solution.
The school district hopes his experience will stabilize the program while it searches for a long‑term head coach.
