A Community Comes Together
Chris Davidson has been a cornerstone of youth hockey in the Seacoast region for decades, serving as general manager of the Seacoast Spartans and academy director for Seacoast Performance Academy. His playing and coaching stints at St. Michael’s College in Vermont added to a reputation that stretched across New England.
On June 20, The Rinks at Exeter will host a fundraiser game that brings together some of the area’s most promising talent. The matchup will feature prospects such as Cole Eiserman, Elliott Groenwold and Cy LeClerc, alongside a slate of coaches and referees who have volunteered their time.
Beyond the game, the event includes a raffle, a skills competition and a free sports clinic led by University of New Hampshire staff and players. The clinic offers young athletes a chance to learn from collegiate coaches while raising funds for the Davidson family.
The Davidsons — wife Aurelia and their four children Deke, Cora, Berk and Auvi — have received an outpouring of love from neighbors, friends and strangers alike. A GoFundMe campaign has already topped $170,000, and contributions have poured in from NHL teams including the Boston Bruins, as well as a host of collegiate programs.
Organizers have partnered with a wide network of institutions, from the Seacoast Spartans and Seacoast Performance Academy to universities such as Northeastern, Quinnipiac and Boston University, as well as professional outfits like the Bridgeport Islanders and Cleveland Monsters. Their combined efforts illustrate how a single community can mobilize resources across sport, education and health.
Aurelia Davidson expressed deep gratitude for the support, noting that the generosity has lifted a heavy burden and allowed the family to focus on treatment and recovery. The upcoming fundraiser promises not only financial assistance but also a reminder that the hockey family stands united in times of need.
