Neshaminy High School Baseball Team Captures 2026 PIAA State Championship

Senior pitcher Matt Gryn leads a historic victory, cementing the team’s place in school lore

A Historic Triumph

Neshaminy High School’s baseball team secured the 2026 PIAA state championship, marking the program’s inaugural title and capping a season that saw the squad navigate a challenging playoff bracket.

The championship run required the team to overcome four district champions — William Allen, La Salle, Pennsbury and Butler — each series testing the squad’s resilience and depth.

Central to the success was senior left‑hander Matt Gryn, who earned wins in three of the four state playoff games, including a complete‑game six‑hitter in the semifinals and 2⅔ innings of relief in the title game.

Coach Dan Toner praised the team’s resilience and the high expectations that had been set early in the season, noting that the players’ familiarity from childhood baseball leagues helped forge a cohesive unit.

The victory also resonated beyond the diamond, echoing earlier semifinal appearances in 1991, 2019 and 2025, and underscoring the program’s steady ascent in Pennsylvania baseball.
