Statewide Honors
The DeWitt girls soccer team capped a remarkable season, capturing the CAAC Blue title, the CAAC Gold Cup and a district championship, underscoring their dominance in the Greater Lansing area.
Four members of the squad earned all‑state recognition in Division 2, highlighted by Madison McCarthy’s second‑team selection, while the rest of the roster contributed to a depth of talent that set the team apart.
The accolades radiated beyond DeWitt, as schools such as East Lansing, Grand Ledge, Mason and Haslett also saw their standouts named to the all‑state lists across Divisions 1 through 4.
Grand Ledge’s Hannah Hall and Lilli Nichols earned honorable‑mention honors in Division 1, while East Lansing’s Eliana Rojas received a similar nod in the same division.
Mason contributed four honorees, including Lexi Haynie on the third team, and Haslett’s Alex Sharrow made the honorable‑mention list in Division 2.
Eaton Rapids celebrated Kennedie Crow’s second‑team placement and several other Division 3 selections, among them Williamston’s Mady Kuehne, who also earned third‑team honors.
Ovid‑Elsie’s McKenzie Keck rose to the first team in Division 4, and Laingsburg’s Payge Woodworth secured first‑team accolades, while Bath’s Emily Schneider and Jaydin Barber were named to the second team.
Lansing Christian’s Evah Foster rounded out the recognitions with an honorable‑mention nod in Division 4, completing a sweep of achievements that highlighted the region’s growing soccer talent.
The Michigan High School Soccer Coaches Association, which oversees the all‑state selections, praised the breadth of talent across the classifications, noting that the diversity of honorees reflects the increasing competitiveness of high school soccer in Michigan.
