CJ Gunn, a recent DePaul graduate, has been named to the USA Basketball 3×3 Nations League Team that will compete in Ñuñoa, Chile, from June 27 through July 3.
A DePaul Legacy
During his collegiate career Gunn emerged as the Blue Demons’ leading scorer for two consecutive seasons, a consistency that caught the attention of national selectors.
Chile Stop and the Road to Wuhan
The Chilean leg is part of a series of six three‑game tournaments that constitute the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas Conference North, each lasting a week and featuring multiple daily matchups.
Teams will field four‑person lineups each day, with substitutions permitted, and will earn points based on performance across the stops; conference champions will secure a place at the 2026 FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup in Wuhan, China.
China’s men’s and women’s teams, along with the reigning champions from Lithuania and the Netherlands, have already earned automatic qualification, while the remaining spots will be filled by conference winners and the next highest‑ranked teams in the league standings.
Streaming and Format
All matches will be streamed live on YouTube.com/FIBA3x3, allowing global audiences to follow the rapid‑fire half‑court action that uses a 10‑minute game clock and a 12‑second shot clock, with the first team to reach 21 points or the leader at the end of regulation declared the winner.
Looking Ahead
Gunn’s inclusion signals USA Basketball’s intent to blend veteran experience with emerging talent as the nation chases a spot in the upcoming world event, and his performance in Chile could set the tone for the next generation of 3×3 players.
