The Medomak Middle School athletic program celebrated a sweep of the Busline League playoffs this spring, with both its softball and baseball squads advancing to the championship round after dominant performances in their respective divisions.
The eighth‑grade softball team clinched the North Division title, downing Belfast 19‑7 before a 24‑4 victory over Camden‑Rockport, a feat highlighted by Addie Hyler’s triple, double and single that sparked the offense.
Meanwhile, the seventh‑grade softball squad secured the South Division crown, edging Nobleboro 8‑6 and then overwhelming Great Salt Bay 17‑2, with Ella Boggs delivering three solid singles to drive the rally.
In baseball, the eighth‑grade side fought its way through the bracket, posting a 17‑5 win over Camden‑Rockport in the division final and a 13‑1 triumph against Hope‑Appleton in the semifinals, where Nathan Day’s two doubles and a single and Ace Lailer’s four hits powered the effort.
The seventh‑grade baseball team, however, fell 14‑4 to Richmond, with S. Rogers contributing a double and a single at the plate.
Championship Outlook
Both programs now turn their attention to the upcoming Busline League championships, where the victorious eighth‑grade teams will meet their final opponents in a bid for overall league supremacy.
Coaches and players alike say the experience gained in these tightly contested games will prove invaluable as the Medomak teams prepare to showcase their depth and resilience on the larger stage.
