Brooklyn Maxey Commits to Kansas State in 2027 Recruiting Class

The three-star wide receiver flips from Louisville after a standout junior season

A Strategic Flip for the Wildcats

Brooklyn Maxey, a three-star wide receiver from Carrollwood Day in Tampa, Florida, announced his commitment to Kansas State for the 2027 recruiting cycle, flipping his pledge from Louisville.

During his junior year he recorded 42 receptions for 764 yards and seven touchdowns, while also contributing 37 tackles and two pass break-ups on defense and returning two kickoffs for scores.

Maxey’s recruitment drew interest from a host of power programs including Texas, Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Kentucky, Penn State and others, and he was ranked No. 881 nationally and No. 63 among athletes by the 247Sports Composite.

Coaches at Kansas State project him as a wide receiver and view his addition as a boost to a 2027 class that currently sits at No. 26 in the national rankings.

The commitment underscores the shifting landscape of college football recruiting in Florida and highlights Kansas State’s ability to attract top talent despite the competition.
