Brock Purdy Emerges as 2026 Fantasy Football Sleeper

The 49ers quarterback’s late‑season surge and new receiving weapons put him in the spotlight for the upcoming season

Brock Purdy is quickly becoming the name on every fantasy draft board for the 2026 season, as analysts label him a sleeper pick after a striking finish to the 2025 campaign.

A Late‑Season Surge

In the final seven games of the 2025 regular season he completed 70.6% of his passes for 1,581 yards, 16 touchdowns and six interceptions, while adding 117 rushing yards and three scores on the ground.

His 8.6 yards per pass attempt tops the league since 2022, and his 6.2% pass‑touchdown rate trails only Lamar Jackson, underscoring an efficiency that few can match, even when compared to other dual‑threat quarterbacks such as Mac Jones.

Over the past two seasons Purdy has averaged 19.6 rushing yards per game and has posted over 20 fantasy points per game in three straight years, including a 23.9 average last season.

The 49ers bolstered the receiving corps with the arrivals of Mike Evans, Christian Kirk and De'Zhaun Stribling, a move that should expand Purdy’s options and raise his ceiling.

However, the team may be without tight end George Kittle for part of the season after he suffered a torn Achilles, and Purdy himself missed significant time a year ago because of a toe injury.

Fantasy Outlook

Analyst Heath Cummings points out that Purdy’s 21.3 fantasy points per game in those final seven weeks placed him inside the top ten, and with a healthier supporting cast he could exceed expectations.

For managers, the key will be monitoring his health and the usage of the new weapons, but the early indicators suggest that Purdy could be a bargain in the later rounds of drafts.
