Kansas State’s football program is deep into the 2027 recruiting cycle, with head coach Collin Klein orchestrating a series of high‑profile commitments that could reshape the Wildcats’ future.
A Strategic Addition for the Wildcats
Brooklyn Maxey, a 6‑foot‑2, 215‑pound athlete from Tampa, announced his commitment to the Wildcats on Tuesday, marking a decisive shift from his earlier verbal agreement with Louisville.
Maxey, who held scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Kentucky, Mississippi State, North Carolina and Texas, indicated he may line up at wide receiver but remains open to other positions that could benefit the offense.
The commitment brings Kansas State’s total pledges for the 2027 class to 22, a tally that places the group among the top 30 nationally according to 247Sports and Rivals.
Klein has added nine prospects in the past month alone, and analysts expect several more announcements in the coming weeks as the recruiting board continues to fill out.
The influx of talent underscores an aggressive recruiting strategy that could translate into immediate on‑field impact, especially as the Wildcats aim to climb the Big 12 standings in the next season.
