A New Era for City‑Based Basketball
The Ones Basketball League, founded by Hall of Famer Tracy McGrady, is set to make its streaming television debut on Fubo Sports Network, thanks to a new partnership with FuboTV Inc.
The league’s ‘Battle of The Cities’ season will feature eight teams representing major U.S. cities, each assembled by celebrity owners and general managers who will hand‑pick four‑player rosters.
Scheduled event days are slated for May 15, June 12 and July 1, with additional feature programming airing outside those windows to give viewers a deeper look at the athletes’ stories.
McGrady expressed pride that Fubo Sports Network is the first media partner to broadcast the league, saying the collaboration will showcase the talent and personality of the players.
Pamela Duckworth, Head of Fubo Studios, praised the league for its authentic narratives where grit meets determination, emphasizing the platform’s role in amplifying under‑the‑radar talent.
The partnership aims to bring the competition to a wider audience, allowing fans to follow the city‑based squads and their celebrated owners, including Jaylen Brown, Muggsy Bogues, Larenz Tate, Tim Hardaway Sr., Jadakiss, Vince Carter, John Wall and Quinn Cook.
By blending sport, entertainment and storytelling, the OBL hopes to carve out a unique space in the basketball landscape and give its athletes a national stage.
