Three Saint Joseph’s College Lacrosse Stars Earn CSC Academic All-District Honors

Sophomores Gabriella Thomas and Katie Yeaton, along with senior Sadie Tirell, are recognized for their scholarly and athletic excellence as the Monks prepare for the 2026 season.

The College Sports Communicators (CSC) recently unveiled its 2026 Academic All-District At-Large teams, an honor that celebrates student-athletes who excel both on the field and in the classroom. To qualify, athletes must maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 and be at least sophomores, underscoring a commitment to academic rigor alongside athletic competition.

Saint Joseph's College celebrated three of its women's lacrosse players who earned spots on the prestigious list. Sophomores Gabriella Thomas and Katie Yeaton received their first Academic All-District® At-Large selections, while senior Sadie Tirell added another accolade to a distinguished collegiate career that also includes multiple Academic All-District® awards in softball.

A Season Marked by Success

The Monks concluded the season with a 12‑8 overall record and a 9‑1 mark in league play, capturing the #2 seed in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Tournament. After a dominant 5‑0 quarterfinal victory over #7 Simmons University on November 1, the team fell to #3 Colby‑Sawyer College, 2‑0, in the semifinals, but the campaign remains one of the most competitive in recent program history.

Head Coach Theresa Arsenault, in her second year at the helm, praised the honorees for embodying the program’s blend of competitiveness and scholarship. "Their dedication in the classroom mirrors the intensity they bring to every practice and game," Arsenault said, highlighting the culture she aims to sustain as the team looks ahead to the next season.

The recognition does not end with the All-District honor. Thomas, Yeaton, and Tirell now join a national pool of candidates for the CSC Academic All-America® awards, which will be announced on June 23, 2026. Their performances will be evaluated alongside peers from 13 different sports, including field hockey, lacrosse, and golf, further spotlighting Saint Joseph's College on a national stage.
