Former Clemson Standout Justyn Ross Seeks New Opportunity After NFL Tenure

The receiver, known for his Super Bowl successes with the Chiefs, returns to the spotlight with a workout for the Washington Commanders.

A New Chapter

Justyn Ross, a former standout at Clemson University, entered the NFL after an undrafted free‑agent signing with the Kansas City Chiefs. Despite a congenital neck condition that forced him to miss the 2020 season and limited his 2021 production, he earned two Super Bowl rings during his tenure in Kansas City.

After departing the Chiefs ahead of the 2025 campaign, Ross returned to the field in the United Football League, playing for the Birmingham Stallions where he recorded 22 receptions for 327 yards and two touchdowns. His performance drew the attention of the Washington Commanders, who invited him to a workout as they evaluate options for the upcoming season.

Though Ross has logged just 12 NFL appearances with a single start, his career includes six catches for 53 yards, all from the 2023 season. The workout represents a fresh chance for the receiver to prove his health and contribute to a team seeking depth at the wide‑receiver position.
