Southeast Arkansas College (SEARK) has named Doug Wingler as its interim athletic director, a role he will hold while also steering the Lady Sharks softball program.
Wingler, a former University of Louisville baseball player, previously guided the softball team to its first completed season and helped the Lady Sharks secure an 8‑seed in the NJCAA Division II Region 2 tournament.
Veteran leadership returns to basketball
James Voight will serve as the second men’s basketball coach in SEARK history, bringing 15 years of head‑coaching experience and a career record of 250‑165.
The Arkansas native arrives from the University of the Southwest in Hobbs, where he led the program to multiple Red River Athletic Conference championship games.
Chad Killinger, meanwhile, steps into his third role as women’s basketball coach, arriving with 28 years of coaching experience, including stints at Indiana State, Wabash Valley College, Nicholls State, East Carolina and Marshall universities.
Killinger’s résumé also includes a successful tenure at Moberly Area Community College in Missouri, where he compiled a 147‑71 record, and a historic run at Lincoln Trail College in Illinois that produced the school’s first NJCAA national tournament appearance.
Looking ahead
The 2026‑27 season will mark SEARK’s third year competing in basketball, and both new coaches have expressed enthusiasm about building competitive programs and fostering student‑athlete development.
Athletic director Wingler emphasized that the coordinated leadership of the softball, men’s and women’s basketball teams reflects a strategic effort to sustain momentum across all sports.
