Marietta Post 64 edged out Parkersburg Post 15 by a 6-4 score in an American Legion baseball game held at City Park on Tuesday. The contest featured solid pitching, timely hitting and a handful of defensive gems that kept the crowd on the edge of their seats.
First Inning Surge
Marietta struck first, exploding for three runs in the opening frame. A flurry of hits by Gavin Fling and Jacob Sealey set the tone, and the early lead put immediate pressure on the visiting squad.
Parkersburg’s starter, Seth Menarchek, answered the challenge with a crisp defensive play to begin the game. Fielding a ball hit by Will Tornes, Menarchek turned a potential rally into a quick out, preserving the early advantage.
