Williamsburg Academy has named Chris Rowland as its new head coach for the boys basketball program, a move that brings a blend of local heritage and professional experience to the team.
A Fresh Coaching Era
Rowland, a native of Paxville, South Carolina, grew up playing three sports at Laurence Manning Academy before earning a Bachelor of Science in horticulture from Clemson University.
After six and a half years in professional sports field installation and maintenance, he returned to his hometown in 2019 and began his coaching journey under the mentorship of Will Furse, who gave him his first sideline opportunity at Laurence Manning.
For the past two seasons he has honed his craft at East Clarendon, working closely with young athletes and shaping a program that emphasizes development and discipline.
Excited to join the Williamsburg Academy family, Rowland looks forward to building on the school's tradition of excellence and guiding his players toward their fullest potential on the court.
