The 2025 football season will be remembered as one of the most successful in the history of Philip Barbour High School, a milestone that has earned the school a spot in the prestigious North‑South All‑Star Game.
A Milestone for Local Football
Three standout athletes — Patrick Webster, Aidan Phillips and Malachi Cross — have been selected to represent the North Bears on the field, bringing the school’s offensive firepower to the all‑star stage.
Head coach Nick Mayle will lead the North Bears alongside a supportive staff that includes assistants Toby Poling, Donnie Evans, Terry Rea and Derek Stephen, ensuring the team is well‑prepared for the contest.
The game itself is set to take place at Black Eagle Stadium in South Charleston, West Virginia, a venue that has hosted countless memorable matchups and will once again serve as the backdrop for this regional showcase.
Additional local talent will also be on display, with Dawson Tenney from Buckhannon‑Upshur and Levi Price from East Hardy joining the North Bears, while Joey Fields of Herbert Hoover will coach the South Cardinals, assisted by Zach Belcher, Justin Cogar, Mikey Hughes and David Jones.
Community leaders and school officials alike view the participation as a testament to the growing competitiveness of high school football in the region, and they anticipate that the event will inspire younger players across the state.
