Cayden Daughtry, a five-star point guard from Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, is set to arrive in Iowa on September 12 for an official visit that will coincide with the Hawkeyes' Corn Cy-Hawk Series football showdown.
Recruiting Crossroads
Ranked among the nation’s elite, Daughtry sits at No. 16 in the 247Sports composite, No. 4 among point guards and No. 4 in Florida, while ESPN places him at No. 12 overall and as the top Florida prospect. Rivals’ rankings echo his stature, listing him as the No. 22 player nationally and No. 7 at his position.
The Iowa Hawkeyes extended an offer on July 12, 2025, and have positioned themselves as top contenders for his eventual commitment, a prospect that has recruit analysts watching closely.
Beyond his high school schedule, Daughtry leads the EYBL with an average of 23.7 points per game for the Florida Rebels and ranks second in assists, earning him a spot among 18 finalists for the USA Basketball U17 National Team.
If he chooses Iowa, the commitment would bolster the Hawkeyes’ backcourt and signal a major recruiting win for a program already courting interest from Michigan, Miami, Florida State, BYU, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisville, Ohio State, Penn State, Rutgers, UConn and Villanova.
