Baseball Dominance
Knoxville’s baseball squad opened the night with a 6‑0 victory over Cardinal, erupting for five runs in the second inning before cruising the rest of the way.
Right‑hander Lincoln Norris threw a two‑hit shutout, fanning 14 batters and adding a solo homer in the fifth to cap his outing.
Coach Turner Devore praised the team’s intensity, noting that the upcoming clash with Pella Christian will be another test of their depth.
Softball Setback
The softball team answered with a 6‑1 defeat to the Comets, a game marked by missed opportunities and a heavy strikeout count.
Addi Williams drove in the lone RBI, but Jordyn Counts absorbed the loss as the squad stranded runners on base in the fifth and seventh innings and struck out 18 times.
Looking Ahead
Both squads are slated to meet Pella Christian again tonight, with the baseball side eyeing a continued climb to the top of the South Central Conference and the softball team hoping to rebound from a 2‑11 start to the season.
