Section V Baseball will celebrate its 2026 Hall of Fame class on June 21 at ESL Ballpark, bringing together a group of players, coaches and teams whose contributions have left an indelible mark on the region’s baseball landscape.
A Class Defined by Excellence
The inductees span decades and include standout athletes from high school powerhouses, junior‑college champions and collegiate standouts, each of whom has earned accolades that extended beyond the local diamond.
Chris Bostick, a sophomore on the 2009 Li’l Irish squad that captured the NYS Class A title, later signed with the Oakland Athletics and enjoyed a nine‑year professional career, while Dusty Odenbach posted a 22‑5 record with a 0.95 ERA and 270 strikeouts at McQuaid, eventually signing with the Kansas City Royals.
Dudley “Skip” Bailey, a First Team All‑County selection and key member of Monroe Community College’s inaugural World Series team in 1976, later helped the program win six Region III championships and reach the NJCAA Division II World Series in 2007.
Justin D’Amato set a single‑season batting average record of .596 at Canandaigua and earned four Rawlings All‑American honors, twice being named Empire 8 Pitcher of the Year at St. John Fisher University.
Tim Fennell’s 16‑strikeout performance over nine innings in the 1976 Class AAA championship propelled Fairport to its first sectional title, a moment still replayed in local lore.
Johnny Ricotta rewrote Monroe Community College’s record books, earned First Team All‑American status in 2017, and added Second Team All‑MAC and First Team All‑Defense honors at Ball State University in 2019.
Mike Zaccardo shattered the Section V single‑season home run record with 11 homers in 2003, was crowned SUNYAC Player of the Year, and captured the National Rawlings Gold Glove award in 2007.
The 2017 Livonia Bulldogs finished a historic 23‑2 season, outscoring opponents 215‑55 to win the NYS Class B title, with ace Reid VanScoter — a fifth‑round Seattle Mariners draft pick — leading the staff.
The ceremony will begin at 11:00 a.m. on June 21, with tickets priced at $60, offering fans a chance to honor these legends in person.
