UConn football has landed two additional recruits for the 2027 class, pushing the total number of commitments to 19 and marking a continued surge in the program’s recruiting momentum.
Commitments Arrive via Social Media
Jalen Moseley, a versatile cornerback from Rhode Island, announced his verbal commitment to UConn on X on Monday. He chose the Huskies after receiving 13 scholarship offers, among them from James Madison, Syracuse and Florida Atlantic.
Moseley also distinguished himself on the track, posting a 10.69‑second 100‑meter and a 22.11‑second 200‑meter during the 2026 outdoor season. In his announcement he said he looks forward to bringing that speed to the Huskies' football program.
The recruit attended La Salle Academy, where he contributed to a 7‑4 season record in 2025 and played both wide receiver and cornerback in his junior year, showcasing his athletic adaptability.
Jeremiah Ogbeifun, an offensive lineman from Ohio, committed to UConn on X Tuesday. He had drawn interest from nine programs, including Pittsburgh, Iowa State and Miami (OH), and was specifically recruited by UConn's offensive line coach John Morookian.
Building a Strong Offensive Line
Ogbeifun previously competed in basketball and threw in track and field before his junior year, adding a multi‑sport background to his profile. He will join Aden Norris and Krystian Oakley as the third offensive lineman to commit to Connecticut, reinforcing the line's depth.
The two new verbal pledges illustrate UConn's ability to attract talent from diverse regions, from the Northeast to the Midwest, while emphasizing versatility and athletic range.
With the class now at 19 commitments, the Huskies are positioned to shape a competitive roster for the 2027 season, leveraging both size and speed to enhance future performance.
