York Revolution Forfeits Pride Night Game
The York Revolution, a minor‑league baseball franchise based in York, Pennsylvania, announced that it would forfeit its scheduled Pride Night game on June 18 rather than compel any player to wear the rainbow‑trimmed jerseys that had been produced for the event.
Several members of the roster openly refused the special jerseys, which featured rainbow sleeves and the word “Pride” across the back, prompting the front office to prioritize player autonomy over the promotional partnership.
The jerseys, designed to celebrate LGBTQ+ visibility, were part of a broader Pride Night program that included batting practice sessions, live music and community booths.
Donation and Ticket Flexibility
In place of the game, the team pledged a $10,000 contribution to the Rainbow Rose Center, an LGBTQ+ community hub, and announced that ticket holders could apply their seats toward a future game during the 2026 season.
The organization emphasized that it still encourages fans to attend the remaining Pride Night festivities, noting that the event will continue to feature the scheduled entertainment lineup.
Team officials said the decision reflects a commitment to both player comfort and community partnership, aiming to foster an inclusive environment without coercive uniform requirements.
