Ifeanyi Emedobi, a 6-foot-2, 214-pound prospect from Indiana, revealed his pledge to the Michigan Wolverines on Tuesday, locking in a spot in the 2027 recruiting class. The announcement came after a series of official visits and a final evaluation of the program’s fit for his athletic and academic goals.
Physical Tools and Camp Performance
Emedobi’s athletic profile impressed scouts at the Under Armour NEXT All-American Camp, where he recorded a verified 4.48-second 40-yard dash, a 37.7-inch vertical leap and a 126-inch broad jump. His wingspan stretches 81 inches and his hands measure 11 inches, numbers that align with the physical benchmarks Michigan’s defensive line coaches have historically pursued.
The recruitment trajectory accelerated after Michigan extended an offer on May 5, a move that elevated him to priority status. Assistant defensive line coach David Denham first offered the player, and edge rushers coach Lewis Powell followed suit, reinforcing the staff’s confidence in his potential.
Emedobi, who tallied 50 tackles, 19 for loss, 5.5 sacks and two forced fumbles as a junior in 2025, now joins Jayce Brewer and Recarder Kitchen as the third edge rusher committed to Michigan’s upcoming class. Rivals ranks him No. 443 overall and No. 10 among Indiana prospects, reflecting both his upside and the competitive nature of the recruiting landscape.
Beyond the numbers, Emedobi cited the relationships he forged with staff and players as a decisive factor. He noted that the Wolverines’ development program offers a clear pathway for him to become the best version of himself, both on the field and in the classroom.
