Nolan Fitzhenry, a 17‑year‑old forward from Andover, Minnesota, revealed his commitment to the University of North Dakota on social media, ending an 18‑month recruitment saga that had drawn attention from college programs across the country.
His decision follows a standout season with the National Team Development Program, where he recorded 94 points in 119 games across the U17 and U18 squads, showcasing a blend of speed, vision and offensive instincts that made him one of the most coveted prospects in the 2009 birth year.
The commitment marks the third time a NTDP player born in 2009 has chosen to join the Fighting Hawks, underscoring the growing pipeline of talent that head coach Brad Berry has cultivated in Grand Forks.
Fitzhenry will become eligible to receive official collegiate offers starting August 1, 2025, a date that aligns with the NCAA’s new recruitment calendar, and he joins a roster that already features several top‑ranked prospects.
