Former Monmouth University football standout Fred Williams was presented with the Outstanding Alumni Service Award during a ceremony held on June 12 at the university's Great Hall and Erlanger Gardens.
A Legacy of Service
Williams, who starred as an outside linebacker and special teams contributor from 2000 to 2003, helped the Hawks capture the Northeast Conference title in 2003 and earned the Coaches Award in his senior year. His on‑field excellence was matched by a relentless commitment to community outreach after graduation.
Following his graduation with a B.S. in business administration, Williams launched Hawkeye Search Group, a boutique recruiting firm, and became a co‑founder of the Yarak Fund, an initiative that provides financial support to Monmouth’s football program. His philanthropic work extends to coordinating the Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program in Monmouth County and volunteering with the Alex Lemonade Stand Foundation for Childhood Cancer.
University officials praised Williams for embodying the qualities the award seeks to honor. Director of Athletics Jennifer Sansevero highlighted his loyalty and dedication, while former head coach Kevin Callahan recalled his determination and physicality on the field.
The ceremony also recognized alumnae Deborah Baker and Kimberly Bukowiec, joining past recipients such as Deborah Mannix in a tradition that celebrates both professional achievement and meaningful volunteer service.
