Scott Livingstone Joins College Baseball Hall of Fame Class of 2026

Scott Livingstone, a former Texas A&M baseball standout, has been selected for the College Baseball Hall of Fame’s Class of 2026, a testament to a career that blended power, precision and perseverance.

During his collegiate years in College Station, Livingstone compiled a career line of .342 across 241 games, amassing 301 hits, 217 runs, 75 doubles, 50 home runs and 228 RBIs, numbers that still anchor the Aggies’ record books.

His excellence was recognized repeatedly, earning All‑Southwest Conference honors in 1985, 1987 and 1988 and being named to the All‑SWC Tournament team in 1986 and 1988. In 1987 he captured the Marion Pugh MVP Award and was selected as a consensus All‑American after batting .403 with 72 runs, 19 homers, 76 RBIs and 167 total bases.

That same season he contributed to the USA Baseball National Team, helping the club secure a silver medal at the Pan American Games, and he later added a silver medal from the 1987 Pan American Games to his résumé.

Livingstone’s impact extended beyond college; the Detroit Tigers drafted him in the second round of the 1988 draft, and he debuted in the majors on July 19, 1991. Over eight big‑league seasons he wore the uniforms of the Tigers, Padres, Cardinals and Expos, finishing with a .281 career average, 431 hits, 163 runs and 177 RBIs.

His collegiate achievements also earned him a place in the Texas A&M Athletic Hall of Fame in 1994, and the program continues to celebrate his 300‑hit, 200‑run and 200‑RBI milestones as unique benchmarks.

A Legacy That Endures

The Hall of Fame will honor Livingstone and his fellow inductees at the 2027 Night of Champions on February 11 in Overland Park, Kansas, where the ceremony will bring together fans, former teammates and representatives of the College Baseball Foundation.

Beyond the statistics, Livingstone’s journey from a Texas backyard to the Hall of Fame illustrates the enduring spirit of collegiate baseball and serves as an inspiration for future generations of Aggies.
