DSHA Secures 3-0 Victory Over Kimberly, Eyes Championship Against Muskego

Aggressive offense and senior leadership propel the Angels into the WIAA Division 1 final

Divine Savior Holy Angels (DSHA) edged out Kimberly 3-0 in the WIAA Division 1 state soccer semifinal, advancing to the championship match that will pit the Angels against four‑time defending champion Muskego.

The Angels imposed their trademark aggressive and unconventional attacking scheme, forcing Kimberly into a defensive scramble. DSHA outshot the opponent 10-5, with five of those attempts coming in the opening half, and built a 3-0 lead before the break.

A Distinctive Tactical Identity

Coach Andrew Sutton noted that the style of play was unlike anything his team had prepared for, describing it as unique and difficult to counter. The early onslaught set the tone for the remainder of the contest.

While Kimberly managed to increase pressure in the second half, they were unable to find a breakthrough, finishing the game with only five shots on goal. The senior class, which had guided the team to three consecutive state tournament appearances, including a runner‑up finish the previous year, was praised for its leadership.

Senior players such as Katie Owens, Brey, Reese Roethe, Avery Roethe, Izzy Burris, Lily Werner, Ayla Raasch, Emily Urban and Lindsey Owens reflected on the journey, highlighting the bond forged over three seasons and the pride of reaching the final.

DSHA will now face Muskego in the title game, a matchup that promises another test of the Angels’ inventive offense against a seasoned opponent.
