A New Chapter for Pike Road Football
Pike Road, a perennial powerhouse in Alabama high school football, finished the 2025 season just one win shy of the 6A semifinal, a run that was punctuated by the loss of standout athletes Jordan Holmes and Braylon Outlaw to injuries.
Entering his junior year, quarterback Gunner Gibbs, who has been the starter since his freshman season, is expected to shoulder the offense and drive the team toward a state title.
The defense, reshaped after the graduation of key linebackers, is anchored by rising senior Jhaylon Smith, whose emergence has added depth and speed to the front line.
Spring practices have revealed a revitalized unit, with players such as Quinton Robinson, Tavarus Capurs, Kameron Hooks, Julius Williams, Logan Colofrancesco and Jaeden Day competing for starting roles.
Coaches and fans alike are optimistic that the blend of experienced returnees and fresh talent will translate into a competitive 2026 campaign, with the ultimate goal of adding a state championship to the program’s storied history.
