Logan Keilen, a 2024 graduate of St. Johns High School, has officially committed to play baseball at Georgia Tech. The catcher and designated hitter will bring his offensive and defensive skills to an ACC program that finished the previous season with a 50‑11 record, captured the conference title and reached the NCAA regional final.
A Strategic Transfer
After two seasons at Central Michigan, where he hit .296 with seven home runs and 42 RBIs as a redshirt freshman, Keilen decided that Georgia Tech offered the best environment for his growth. The Yellow Jackets have a reputation for producing major‑league talent, including alumni such as Charlie Blackmon, Nomar Garciaparra, Mark Teixiera, Jason Varitek and Matt Wieters.
Development at the Next Level
Keilen is particularly excited about the coaching staff’s focus on catchers and hitters. He believes the program’s infrastructure will sharpen his skills and increase his chances of extending his career beyond college. "I want to play as long as I can, including professionally," he said in a recent interview.
Northwoods League Experience
During the summer, Keilen is showcasing his abilities with the Bismarck Larks in the Northwoods League, competing in Bismarck, North Dakota. The league provides a competitive summer platform that he hopes will further prepare him for the transition to Georgia Tech.
The move to Georgia Tech also marks a personal milestone, as the university’s strong academic reputation and vibrant campus life align with Keilen’s long‑term goals. He plans to major in [unspecified] while balancing the rigors of Division I athletics.
