A Night of Dominance
On Thursday night the Pleasantville Trojans baseball and softball teams traveled to face the ACGC Chargers and left the field with decisive victories in both of their doubleheaders. The twin sweeps not only added two wins to each program’s record but also highlighted the depth of talent across the rosters.
The softball team opened with a 9‑2 triumph that saw the Trojans plate three runs in the second, fifth and seventh innings. Claira Metcalf led the offense with four hits, while Lainey Kennedy threw all seven innings, surrendering only three hits and no earned runs.
A second 8‑2 victory followed, with Harper McGraw contributing two hits and Tenley Elliott delivering a complete‑game performance that included eight strikeouts and only four hits allowed.
Baseball's Perfect Shutouts
The baseball squad answered with a 13‑0 shutout in the first game, as Brody Adreon pitched all five innings without allowing a run, striking out seven batters. JJ Phillips went 3‑3 with two home runs and six RBI, underscoring the team’s offensive firepower.
The second baseball game ended in a 16‑0 rout. Caylor Jones worked four innings, giving up a single hit and recording five strikeouts. Brayden Kennedy, Noah Rist and Braylon Bingham each added multi‑hit performances, including a home run and six RBI for Kennedy.
Both programs will reconvene on Saturday and Monday for their next scheduled contests, carrying the momentum from a night that saw every Trojan who took the mound or the plate leave a measurable impact.
Looking Ahead
The upcoming schedule promises continued competition, and the Trojans hope to translate the recent successes into further victories as they prepare for the weekend.
