NASCAR is set to debut its first Anduril 250 at San Diego’s Naval Base Coronado, a venue that will test drivers on a 16‑turn, 3.4‑mile circuit unlike any other on the schedule.
A Course Designed for Endurance
The layout, featuring sixteen corners and a mix of high‑speed straights and technical sections, is being billed as one of the toughest tests of the year, demanding precision from both rookie and veteran competitors.
Drivers will experience the full configuration for the first time during Friday’s on‑site activities, having previously studied the track in simulators and on iRacing.
With all three of NASCAR’s national series scheduled for the weekend, the event promises a packed program that will keep fans engaged from start to finish.
Attendance is capped at 25,000 for the Friday Navy Community Day and 50,000 for each of Saturday and Sunday, creating a significant logistical undertaking for organizers.
To mitigate traffic bottlenecks, especially on routes leading to Naval Air Station North Island, officials are extending vendor hours and planning post‑race entertainment to encourage fans to linger and disperse gradually.
Local residents and businesses are being consulted as part of a broader effort to balance the excitement of the race with the need to keep the surrounding community moving smoothly.
