The Big South Conference unveiled its weekly baseball honors on May 11, spotlighting the most impressive performances from the recent stretch of games that ran from May 4 through May 10.
Player of the Week
Alex Marot of Charleston Southern earned the Player of the Week award after batting .643 and delivering three home runs, 13 runs batted in, and eight runs scored during the period.
Starting Pitcher
Max Kaplan from USC Upstate was selected as the Starting Pitcher of the Week after tossing a complete game that allowed just one earned run on five hits.
Relief Pitcher
Branden Barna of UNC Asheville captured the Relief Pitcher honor, notching two saves while permitting only a single run on five hits.
Freshman
Freshman standout Ben Green, also representing UNC Asheville, posted a .538 average, added two doubles, drove in four runs and scored twice during the week.
The conference emphasized how these performances not only highlighted individual excellence but also contributed to the overall competitiveness of Big South baseball this season.
