A Viral Visitor
Freddy, a German soccer fan who captured the internet with a stream of live‑tweets chronicling his U.S. adventure, has now been extended an invitation to the White House.
From Twitter to the White House
The invitation came from Nick Adams, the Special Presidential Envoy for American Tourism, who praised Freddy's journey as a "fabulous thing for our country" and highlighted the hospitality that America offers to visitors.
Freddy's infatuation with country music star Ella Langley opened a door to a private concert, where the two met, and the encounter further cemented his affection for the genre.
The tour also took him to the facilities of the New Orleans Saints and the Pelicans, to Louisiana State University, and to the Houston Police Department, where he met the mayor and local officials.
Adams said he has not yet spoken with former President Donald Trump about Freddy, but believes the former commander‑in‑chief would welcome the fan, noting America's unparalleled landscapes and hospitality.
The experience underscores how a simple love for a country can bridge cultures, from the soccer pitches of Germany to the bustling streets of New Orleans, Houston and beyond.
