Chandler Fraser-Pauls is back at the helm of Pennington School’s boys basketball program, taking on the role of head coach for the first time since the 2024-25 season.
During his previous stint, he guided the team to a 19-9 record and captured the Mercer County Tournament title, establishing himself as a steady hand for the program.
A Family-Centric Vision
Fraser-Pauls says the new era will be defined by more than wins on the court; he wants to cultivate a culture where education and personal growth sit side by side with basketball.
He emphasizes that each player is first a student, and that the program will serve as a supportive family for athletes balancing academics, athletics and future aspirations.
The coach has already added three fresh faces to the roster — Cameron Hines, Jayden Ortiz-Muhammad and Judah Sterling — while retaining key contributors such as Joshua Benka-Coker.
Pennington will also return most of last season’s squad, giving the new recruits a familiar environment as they integrate into the team’s system.
Beyond the gym, Fraser-Pauls holds the title of Assistant Dean of Students and will teach classes while completing a graduate degree, a dual commitment that reflects his belief in developing the whole person.
The program’s growth is further supported by plans for a full-time coaching staff and participation in high-profile events like the Penn University team camp and the Mid-Atlantic Independent School Shootout.
With a clear focus on education, family and competitive development, Fraser-Pauls aims to turn Pennington into a consistent producer of college-ready basketball talent.
