Summer Youth Football Camps Return to Bend
The Oregon Lightning soccer club and Bend FC announced a joint effort to host a series of youth development camps beginning June 22 at Pine Nursery Park. The initiative aims to sharpen fundamental skills, speed, agility and conditioning for children between five and fourteen years old.
Each camp runs from eight in the morning until noon, delivering sixteen hours of instruction over a week‑long session. Organizers have limited each week to eighty participants, ensuring individualized attention from coaches.
Three one‑week sessions are scheduled: June 22‑25, June 29‑July 2 and July 6‑9. All meetings take place at the same venue, providing a consistent progression of drills and small‑sided games.
Both Oregon Lightning coaches and Bend FC development staff will lead the training, blending expertise from the two clubs to create a curriculum focused on fundamentals and competitive play.
Registration is now open on the partners’ websites, www.theoregonlightning.com and www.bendfc.org, where families can secure spots before they fill up.
Community Impact and Future Sessions
The collaboration reflects a shared commitment to youth development and community engagement, offering a structured pathway for young athletes to grow on and off the field.
With limited capacity and high demand expected, early sign‑up is encouraged for families looking to participate in the upcoming summer sessions.
