Jesse Love to Join Wood Brothers Racing in 2027

Champion replaces Josh Berry in the iconic No. 21 Ford

A New Era for Wood Brothers Racing

Wood Brothers Racing announced today that Jesse Love will become its full‑time driver in 2027, taking over the No. 21 Ford that has been piloted by Josh Berry in recent seasons.

Love, the reigning NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series champion, is currently second in the title battle and said it was an honor to join a team steeped in American racing history.

The organization, which boasts a longstanding alliance with Penske Racing and a driver roster that includes Hall of Famers such as A.J. Foyt and Cale Yarborough, highlighted the move as a continuation of its tradition of pairing young talent with seasoned expertise.

Josh Berry, who earned the team’s 101st victory last year at Las Vegas, will transition to a different role, allowing Love to bring his own momentum to the cockpit.

Although Love has only seven Cup Series starts to his name, with a best finish of 24th, he will also continue to compete in the No. 2 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet in the interim, gaining valuable experience ahead of his full‑time debut.

Team officials expressed confidence that Love’s blend of youthful drive and proven skill will keep the No. 21 Ford competitive and uphold the Wood Brothers legacy.
