Nolan Cain is set to return to Texas A&M for the 2027 season, rejoining the program where he first made his mark as an assistant coach from 2022 through 2024.
A Strategic Homecoming
This time around he will wear two hats, serving as Associate Head Coach and Recruiting Coordinator, a dual role that reflects the confidence the Aggies have in his ability to shape both the on‑field strategy and the talent pipeline.
Cain’s return coincides with a wave of high‑profile additions to the staff, including former MLB pitcher Barry Enright, who has been tapped as the new pitching coach, and Clemson standout catcher Nate Savoie, who signed with the club earlier this week.
Recruiting Momentum
The move also brings Cain back into the orbit of Jim Schlossnagle, under whom he previously helped shepherd top‑ranked recruiting classes, including a No. 3 class in 2026 and a No. 2 class in 2025.
In 2026, Cain and the Longhorns captured the College World Series in Omaha, a milestone that adds a competitive edge to the upcoming season, as the Aggies look to finish what they started in 2024 and push for their own championship run.
Michael Earley, who has been a steady presence in the program, will continue to support the staff, while veteran figures such as Cliff Pennington, Kevin O'Sullivan and Ryan Brauninger contribute their experience across the board.
